Liveheed Youth Development was born from one man’s dream to change lives. Mr. Waiswa Moses, raised by a single mother in Uganda, saw firsthand the struggles of vulnerable kids and women. In 2018, he founded LYD to give them hope, education, and opportunities.
Despite early challenges, like convincing the government with no international donors, Waiswa’s determination and local fundraising won LYD its first one-year license. Since then, we’ve grown into a trusted non-profit (License No. 2019/02/1946, Registration No. 2169/2022/4/6), serving Katale Seguku with programs in education, health, water, and livelihoods. Today, we work with communities, partners, and donors to create lasting change. Our story is about resilience, compassion, and a commitment to Uganda’s future. Want to know more about our impact? Our mission is to transform the lives of vulnerable children, youth, and women through sustainable, community-driven programs. We focus on education, clean water, health, and livelihoods to empower families in Katale Seguku. Our vision is a Uganda where every child learns, every family thrives, and every woman has the tools to succeed. We believe in working together—listening to communities, partnering with local leaders, and ensuring transparency. This approach builds trust and creates real change.
We care deeply. Every child, every woman, every family matters.
Education opens doors. We build schools, train teachers, empower minds.
Planting skills today. Harvesting hope and income tomorrow.
LYD began in 2018 when Mr. Waiswa Moses turned his lifelong passion for helping others into action. Growing up with a single mother, he understood the challenges of poverty and lack of opportunity. He started small, raising local funds to register LYD as a non-profit, overcoming government skepticism about donor support.
By 2019, LYD was officially licensed, and we began serving Katale Seguku with education and health programs. Over the years, we’ve expanded to reach more people, building schools, water points, and women’s cooperatives. Our commitment to transparency and community involvement has earned us respect from beneficiaries and partners alike. Today, we’re proud to carry Waiswa’s vision forward, creating a brighter future for Uganda. Want to see the lives we’ve changed? Visit our success stories.
